Instead of membership, AsianDate sells prepaid credits to its members to access its paid features. To encourage users to subscribe, they offer a huge discount for every member’s first order. Instead of paying GBP15.99 for 20 credits, members can buy it for GBP2.99. Credits let users live chat and video chat with women listed on the dating site. This costs at least 10 credits or GBP8.00. A phone call with a woman and an interpreter is a minimum 10 minutes which costs 100 credits or almost GBP80.00.

It could also buy virtual gifts, which amounts to 15 credits (about GBP10), and actual flowers and gifts that get delivered on the woman’s doorstep, which ranges from 12 credits (GBP9) for a single flower to a whopping 869 credits (around GBP350) for jewellery. Order delivery period is 3-5 days, and the sender will get notified along with a picture of the woman receiving the gift at the time of the delivery.

Members have the option to automatically replenish their credit as soon as there’s nothing left. Refunds are subject to approval, and AsianDate only gives back no more than 10 credits. Due to fraud detection and safety, members are not allowed to make anonymous payments.

The gender ratio of AsianDate is supposedly 75% women and 25% men, but when we tested the website, we couldn't find any men profiles in the member search.

We also found out that only men were allowed to create profiles and that members are unable to see fellow members as the search only shows the women profiles listed within the app. Because it is a niche dating site, most of the profiles come from Asian backgrounds, and the authenticity of the profiles is controversial.

Most men who sign-up at AsianDate may just be looking for a virtual relationship as AsianDate claims that they genuinely come from the Far East. Unless they travel to China or any other Asian country, that’s the only time they’d be able to go on a real date.
